Thanks to your amazing support we’ve made some incredible strides in 2012 (see below). As the year draws to a close we ask you to please consider making a tax deductible contribution to Rise Up so we may continue our mission of helping people with disabilities.
Here is how your donations help:
$25 - Assist in the purchase of paint for an adaptive art workshop
$50 - Buy a canvas and additional supplies for an adaptive art workshop
$100 - Pay one of our instructors to teach an adaptive art workshop
$250 - Support the “artist in residency” program funding an opportunity for one of our disabled artists to live/work in Miami for one month
$500 - Help provide R ise Up Gallery with an exhibition space to showcase the work of artists with disabilities and offer adaptive art workshops to the community

MIAMI 5K/HALF-MARATHON/MARATHON (Sat/Sun, Januray 26th-27th, 2013):
Rise Up Gallery is looking for SPONSORS and RUNNERS to participate in the upcoming Miami ING Marathon Fundraising Event. Rise Up will pay registration fees for all participants and various levels of sponsorship packages are available. Enjoy a run for those who can’t. Wanna be part of our team? REEVE GRANT AWARD, JUNE 2012
Rise Up Gallery was awarded $6000 from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. This quality of life grant has been instrumental in supporting our Adaptive Art Workshops with materials and art supplies for artists with disabilities. A BIG Thank You to the good folks at The Reeve Foundation who have helped Rise Up Gallery become reality.
ART WORKSHOP AT PUSH TO WALK SUMMER CAMP, JULY 2012:
This summer, Rise Up Gallery artist, Laurie Kammer, led the Adaptive Art Workshop at the Push To Walk Summer Camp. It was an awesome day. Participants received hands-on guidance and exposure to different adaptive art materials and the chance to experience creativity for themselves.
MIAMI-DADE CULTURAL GRANT AWARD:
First time recipient, Rise Up Gallery, was awarded $3700 from Miami-Dade County. This grant supports an integral part in the launch of the new Rise Up Gallery location in Wynwood Arts District by contributing monies toward exhibition space. We are so happy about this because it paves the way for future support from the city of Miami.
2012 ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH, DECEMBER 6-9:
With great speed and tremendous help from our amazing volunteers, Rise Up Gallery opened its doors just in time for a “soft” opening during Art Basel, one of the most prestigious and explosive art festivals in the world. It was an exciting few days with artists and art buyers in town from all over the globe. Well over 1000 visitors in 72 hours came through our doors, so were able to spread word about our organization. Thank you to everybody who helped make it a success.
EXHIBIT WITH ST-ART @ PROJECTIVE SPACE, NYC:
Rise Up Gallery partnered with ST-Art for a 6 week long exhibit at Projective Space in New York City. The event ran from Sept 12 – Nov 1. Many thanks to Ajanta for getting us involved and curating a fantastic show.
EXHIBIT WITH JC PROARTS @ TENMARC, JERSEY CITY:
Rise Up Gallery was featured in this years Jersey City ProArts Studio Tour at the Tenmarc Building in downtown Jersey City. Laurie and Bobby Kammer set up a beautiful exhibit that ran Oct 13-14. The artist community in Jersey City has been incredibly supportive of Rise Up since Day 1, thank you so much for the continued opportunity to showcase our work.
NEW JERSEY HEROES AWARD RECEPTION:
In September, Rise Up was invited back to celebrate the 2012 NJ Heroes. Laurie and Katie attended the reception and spread the good word about all of Rise Up Gallery’s exciting upcoming initiatives. Thank you Governor & Mary Pat Christie for your continued support.
VOLUNTEERS:
A special welcome and thank you to the new base of volunteers in Miami. We had a great turn out of volunteers helping to hang artwork, build furniture, clean art spaces, and promote the gallery.
